Job Summary:
To assist cook on duty, wash dishes during shift, set up meal trays for meals and necessary kitchen housekeeping tasks as designated by the Dietary Manager. Dietary Aide reports to Dietary Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen during work shift.
2. Responsible for washing all dishes during shift.
3. Responsible for setting up meal trays for residents who eat in their room.
4. Responsible for dishing meals
5. Responsible for assisting the cook on duty with meal serve out.
6. Responsible for any housekeeping assignments made by the Dietary Manager.
7. Responsible for handling and preparation of foods in accordance with high quality food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.
8. Responsible for meeting demands of meal schedule.
9. Responsible for maintaining equipment and work areas in sanitary and safe condition.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. No experience is necessary; however previous kitchen experience in an institution is preferable.
2. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
3. Must maintain a current food handlers license.
4. Must be able to lift/push/pull over forty (40) pounds.
5. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of shift.
6. Must be alert and able to concentrate to prevent routine mishaps from exposure to hazards in dietary department.
7. Must be able to cooperate to coordinate activities with Dietary Manager and those of other kitchen workers.
