Position Summary
As the General Manager of the Hyatt House Bloomington, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, optimizing financial performance, and maintaining the property’s brand reputation. This is a leadership role that requires strategic thinking, strong financial acumen, and a passion for hospitality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and results-driven work environment that reflects Hyatt’s culture and values.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments.
- Ensure strict adherence to Hyatt brand standards, service protocols, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular property walks to maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment.
Guest Experience
- Champion a “guest-first” culture, quickly addressing and resolving any service or operational issues.
- Monitor guest feedback through reviews and surveys, implementing improvements as needed.
- Maintain open communication channels with customers and staff to continuously refine the guest experience.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring revenue goals and profit targets are met or exceeded.
- Review financial statements and sales reports, identifying areas for cost control and revenue growth.
- Implement effective inventory management and forecasting strategies.
Sales & Marketing
- Collaborate with the sales team to create and execute property-specific sales strategies.
- Develop relationships within the local community to enhance the property’s presence and generate new business.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of hotel operations.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive hotel management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Prior experience with Hyatt or another major hotel brand strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and other hotel-related software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business demands.
