What are the responsibilities and job description for the BREAKFAST HOST/ATTENDANT - Part-time - Weekends Required position at Hyatt Place Provo Downtown?
JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure an engaging, welcoming and enjoyable experience for our customers and guests. Prepare all breakfast items for buffet, or made-to-order items, to pre-determined recipes or by request. Serve prepared food according to guidelines and brand standards. Ensure breakfast area is neat and clean and follow all food sanitization standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet guests in a friendly and engaging manner.
- Restock and clean condiment areas, empty trash and recycling as needed.
- Prepare all food items according to instructions, ensuring proper sanitation methods are used. Ensure food is presented in an appealing manner and according to brand or property standards.
- Bus/clear tables in dining area to ensure a clean and inviting environment.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Assist with inventory counts and ordering as requested by management.
- Ensure all food handling, safety, and sanitization protocols are followed at all times.
- Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Adhere to shift schedule and attendance guidelines.
In some locations, made to order food and beverage may be available and require the associate to:
- Take order accurately, seek clarification if needed and close transition with correct method of payment
- Enter orders in the point of sale (POS) machine, ensuring special request made by guest while ordering are notated accurately.
- Print closing report and drop the cash deposits per company guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs., independently.
- Ability to obtain a food handlers card and alcohol beverage service cards, or other applicable licensing in accordance with local food and beverage service ordinances.
- Serve-Safe certification desired, must be able to obtain upon hire.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food service experience.
- Ability to communication verbally and in writing to explain menus and place orders.
