QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Full-time management position that requires schedule flexibility, ability to work weekends and holidays, and a varied mix of day and evening shifts.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hotel Front Office supervisory role required.
- Candidates should possess strong hotel room operations knowledge including front office and guest services.
- A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills with a charming and accommodating personality balanced by assertiveness and confidence.
- Extremely detail oriented and organized with proven leadership skills and ability to deliver results. A motivational leader and effective communicator, with high energy and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of hotel property management systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in managing the hotel front office while working closely with all hotel departments. Manage all aspects of the guest experience to create elevated experiences that engender guest loyalty.
- Process guest check-ins/outs and assign rooms following the hotel’s rate structures, discounts and sell/upsell strategies. Assist guests with reservations and pre-register and block reservations as needed. Accommodate special requests when possible.
- Answer inquiries about hotel services, in-house events, directions, local attractions, etc.
- Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Take an active role in understanding and anticipating guest needs to provide authentic and personalized service. Ensure a timely response to guest needs and address concerns beyond satisfaction.
- Manage team members to create a strong service and results-oriented culture. Regularly communicate and reinforce standards of performance and the role of each team member in contributing to individual and team success. Lead and coach the team to achieve exceptional guest service.
- Ensure all checklists and opening and closing duties are completed for each shift and staffing levels are sufficient for business needs.
- Ensure accurate guest bills, deposits and payments in compliance with policies and procedures and ensure accurate and appropriate administration of frequent traveler benefits.
- Regularly review service scores to identify areas needing improvement and implement appropriate changes.
- Successfully manage administrative/office responsibilities including scheduling and weekly payroll.
- Ensure compliance with company and brand standards and policies, as well as compliance with sanitation, safety, security and emergency procedures.
- Any other duties / tasks as requested.
