Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance of all kitchen, laundry, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions in commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, and ventilation systems.
- Maintain a detailed log of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and hotel policies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to identify potential issues and implement solutions promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Implement and adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring that necessary supplies are available for immediate repair needs.
- Strong background and extensive knowledge of kitchen, laundry, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Previous engineering experience with commercial kitchen equipment and systems, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics related to kitchen and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff, management, and external vendors.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the hotel’s operational needs.
- Certification or training in relevant fields such as HVAC, electrical, or mechanical engineering is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
