Job Purpose
Develop new volume accounts, foster strong relationships with assigned existing accounts, and enhance the hotel's positive presence and reputation within the local community.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify, negotiate, and secure contracted revenue from volume prospects in alignment with the hotel’s business objectives.
- Leverage revenue management strategies to recommend competitive corporate rate proposals.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that provide value to both the client and the hotel.
- Pursue new contract opportunities through diverse methods, including cold calls, in-person sales visits, community engagement, online research, supplier collaborations, and industry resources.
- Develop, execute, and continuously refine strategic sales action plans to drive results.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date contact management system to track client interactions effectively.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts that meet the hotel’s revenue goals, ensuring alignment with desired patterns of arrivals, departures, and volume.
- Effectively communicate client needs and expectations internally to ensure seamless coordination between the client and hotel staff.
- Represent the hotel at target market trade shows and participate in sales blitzes to expand market reach.
- Conduct thorough competitive analysis and maintain detailed competitor files to sustain a competitive edge.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with local civic organizations and businesses to enhance community engagement and visibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
- Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).
- Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
- Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience
