Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Financial Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and other financial documents.
- Report Preparation: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Analysis: Support financial analysis by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed.
- Communication: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Tax Preparation: Assist with tax preparation and filing.
- Previous accounting and finance experience is required. (Hospitality finance experience is an advantage)
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to read and respond in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiastic, service-oriented, and with a passion for hospitality and Alaska’s vibrant culture.
- Proficiency in accounting softwares, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with web-based tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
