Nurse Coordinator Job Description
Job Qualifications:
Holds a current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED
Experience as a school nurse and currently employed in the District
Recommended Qualifications: Experience in nursing administration Experience in pediatrics and/or community or public health nursing
Reports To: Director of Guidance Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services
Job Goal: Acts as a liaison between nurses and the administration
Duties and Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
Implements and follows up on all directives related to Nurse Coordinator responsibilities from Director of Guidance or Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services Completes District Immunization Survey annually for State Health Department and BMI survey biannually
Reviews and sees that District letters on health related matters are sent from all schools Reviews and presents the Standing orders and medication orders to the school physician for adoption each September
Participates in the selection, interviewing and hiring process for all new R.N.’s
Responsible for coordinating orientation schedule of all new substitute R.N.’s in the District
Participates in the selection and interviewing of all R.N. substitutes in the District Collaborate with the Director of Guidance in the planning of the monthly department meeting agendas and professional development on Superintendent Conference Days
