Hyde Park Day School is the leading full-day grade school in the Chicago area dedicated to supporting children of average to superior intelligence with learning disabilities such as dyslexia and language impairments. About the Role
As Development Associate, you will play a key role in fundraising, donor engagement, and marketing efforts to support the school's mission. You'll work closely with the Development Director to implement strategic initiatives, build meaningful relationships with donors and alumni, and enhance HPDS's visibility through digital marketing and event planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support fundraising and donor engagement initiatives, helping to grow the major donor program and increase donor participation.
- Plan and execute events to engage alumni, parents, and donors.
- Serve as a liaison to volunteer groups, providing reports, fundraising support, and stewardship.
- Coordinate and implement social media and marketing strategies, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence.
- Manage and update the organization's website and assist with the creation of marketing collateral.
- Collaborate on strategic donor prospecting efforts with individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for development activities.
- Seek opportunities for professional development to enhance job performance.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales, or related fields.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage donors, alumni, and faculty.
- Ability to motivate volunteers and work collaboratively with a team.
- Proficiency in Google products and platforms; knowledge of WordPress, Constant Contact, and Raiser's Edge is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Personal auto and ability to travel between campuses occasionally is helpful.
