Hyde Park Day School is the premier school for bright students with learning disabilities in the Chicago metropolitan area. Hyde Park Day School is seeking to hire a Full-time Occupational Therapist at our Chicago Campus to cover a leave of absence. This position will perform professional services to students in assessment, planning, and goal development, and provide appropriate intervention services designed to enhance student potential for learning. The Occupational Therapist assists students in acquiring those performance skills needed to participate in and benefit from the educational environment, and to function independently and, provides classroom instruction in regulation strategies and handwriting.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from a baccalaureate educational program accredited by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Certified in the State of Illinois.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of specialty area;
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of providing effective therapy for special needs students;
- Thorough knowledge of school rules, regulations, and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, students and parents.
ABOUT HYDE PARK DAY SCHOOL
Hyde Park Day School is a full-day school program that offers specialized, educational curriculum for students, ages 6 to 15, with moderate to severe learning disabilities and who have average to above average intelligence. We admit only bright students with learning disabilities and screen for behavioral and emotional concerns.
Adherence to CDC and IDPH COVID protocols have allowed us to provide in-person instruction for the past two academic years.
