Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This dual-role position plays a critical part in providing administrative support and direct patient care. The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of our medical office, ensuring efficient workflow and delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage patient registration, including verifying insurance details and updating patient records.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, procedures, and follow-ups.
- Handle incoming calls and provide information or redirect inquiries as necessary.
- Assist medical staff with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing examination rooms, and performing basic laboratory tests.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Process billing and handle payment transactions.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assistant program is preferred.
- Proven experience as a medical assistant and/or front desk receptionist in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in medical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain patience and professionalism.
- Empathy and a patient-centric approach to care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
