Machine Shop Associate

Overall Purpose:      The Machine Shop Associate is responsible for assisting various departments within the machine shop. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:           

• Monitor and remove chips accordingly
• Operate CNC Saw to slug components per job planning
• Assist the tool crib attendant by delivering and returning machining kits to the tool crib
• Deburr various metal parts to remove sharp edges left as a product of machining
• Operate machinery in various departments
• Inspect critical dimensions to ensure components adhere to blueprint specifications
• Operate equipment in 2nd01, 2nd02, Deburr and Cleaning/Tumbler areas
• Clean parts as necessary
• Clean work areas
• Follow both verbal and written instructions
• Crosstrain in other areas as needed
• Adhere to 5S Standards
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

Other Duties:           

• Other duties based on the needs of the Machine Shop

 Qualification Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent
• Must possess basic computer skills
• Requires basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of common hand and machine tools
• Ability to perform repetitive work
• Fluent in English (able to read, speak and understand)
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Physical Demands:                           

• While performing duties of the job, the employee is required to:

o   Sit for long periods of time

o   Stand for long periods of time

o   Reach with both hands and arms

o   Perform repetitive motions

o   Regularly lift 30 pounds

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

 Work Environment:   Machine Shop environment with moderate to high noise level
