Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in the assessment and diagnosis of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, patient care, and anatomy. The Sonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality images are obtained for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is functioning correctly and safely.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to the ultrasound examinations performed.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and assist in the interpretation of results.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols during procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques to provide the best care possible.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology.
- Experience in sonography with a focus on Bone Scans, Body Scans and Brain View Scans are preferred but not required.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Familiarity with medical imaging practices and protocols.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Certification in sonography from an accredited institution is preferred.
