What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Sales Manager position at Hydraulic Technologies?
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the sales and profitability for the district served in order to achieve overall division and corporate goals. The District Sales Manager will implement plans in the territory, focusing on the various major industries (Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, Power Generation, and other general industries) which results in the expansion of existing products and customer orders while capturing new customers and new product orders. Responsible for all Hydraulic Technologies’ product lines: Stone, Power Team, Bolting Systems and Hytec.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Responsible for the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Maryland.
- Demonstrate expertise in solving customer problems relative to Hydraulic Technologies’ applications.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with assigned accounts.
- Evaluate and report on accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain excellent and up-to-date record systems for customer accounts with a focus on Microsoft CRM.
- Provide timely and accurate market information including information in the areas of pricing competitive activities, products, and other items necessary to the success of area marketing strategies and programs.
- Keep records and make reports in the area of activities and expenses, submitting them on a regular and timely basis.
- Develop and recommend innovative ideas and tactics that will contribute to an increase in market share and sales.
- Confer regularly with management on recommended sales strategies, promotions, and potential new markets. Work also with the accounts and be aware of potential problem areas with Hydraulic Technologies’ product lines in the areas of shipments, past due accounts, etc.
- Must be able to define a problem, assess risks, and develop recommendations for action plans.
- Must be able to deliver presentations, both written and oral.
- Model and promote the Hydraulic Technologies leadership standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to achieve business goals.
- Travel required – approximately 50%.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of work experience with at least 5 years in an outside sales position selling directly to OEM’s and through industrial distribution.
- BS or BA in business, engineering or Fluid Power Technology.
- Fluid Power Specialist preferred.
- NFPA Certified FPS or HS preferred.
SKILLS
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Must be effective at managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office and CRM.
