Job Title: Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff or Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, assisting in preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions. This role is critical in supporting the financial health of the company by maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This is an on-site role.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Prepare account reconciliations, account analysis, and journal entries.
Duties include those for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
General Accounting and Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Prepare supporting documentation for financial reporting and assist in audits as required.
Reconcile subsystems to the general ledger.
Prepare analysis of activity.
Analyze and address discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial forecasts.
Provide variance analysis comparing actual results to budgets/forecasts.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Support the development and maintenance of accounting procedures and controls.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects and reports.
Provide support for tax filings and external audit processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
10 years of relevant accounting experience (experience in manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment preferred).
Proficiency in accounting software, including Advanced Excel and ERP system (preferred).
Familiarity with GAAP principles.
Attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing deadlines.
Effective communication and organizational skills.
