The EHS Engineer plays a critical role in advancing Hydro-Gear's commitment to safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. By proactively identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring environmental responsibility, and fostering a strong safety culture, this role helps protect employees and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities of our EHS Engineer:
- Create, implement and continuously improve EHS programs, practices, documents, and training
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations (EPA, OSHA & state/local agencies)
- Provide training on LOTO, Electrical Safety, spill response and hazardous waste handling, etc.
- Investigate EHS incidents, implement corrective actions and report findings
- Maintain and update SDS system and perform chemical evaluations and duties as necessary
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate third-party inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement
- Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field (preferred)
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training is required – equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
