POSITION DESCRIPTION
Currently, HGL is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join out team in Camden County, NJ.
Responsibilities/Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The successful candidate will:
- Comply with Quality Control and Health and Safety workplans, policies and requirements.
- Perform O&M of two Wastewater Treatment Plants (N-3 and N-4) under direction of onsite licensed operator of record.
- Collect compliance samples
Required Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- High School Diploma or equivalency certificate
- Mechanical aptitude and /or knowledge of environmental remediation systems
- 1-year operating or processing experience
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Team orientated and ability to work well with others
- Proper housekeeping and maintenance of safe work area
- Ability to perform activities in compliance with project work plans, licenses, and contract documents
- Mechanical ability
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER (or within first 30 days of employment)
- 8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Refresher (if applicable)
Preferred Skills
WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT – Preferred, not required
- Performing functions at hazardous, toxic, or radiological waste sites for a federal client and operating under USACE QC and S&H programs
- Environmental sampling protocols
- Current NJDEP license for Industrial Wastewater Treatment (N-1 or higher), or
- Completion of a NJDEP approved Industrial Wastewater Training course, or
- A Statement of Qualifications (NJDEP Form No. ADM- 035A) signed by the licensed operator in charge, as listed with NJDEP records, where experience was accrued to qualify for application to sit for an N license examination

Project schedule is 7:00 am-5:30 pm, Monday-Thursday. Alternate or extended shift scheduling may be required short-term to meet project demands
