JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager is responsible for coordinating all functions related to our ISO 9001 certification and continual registration. Quality Manager will also coordinate and expedite the flow of returned and non-conforming materials between customers, vendors and Hydrotech (organization) according to the vendor and company returned goods policies and procedures. Duties include organizing and providing data and updating documented procedures to drive continuous improvement at vendors and within the organization.

Contributes to a positive working culture, builds strong relationships, and lives out the values of integrity, collaboration, and accountability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set a clear mission and deploy strategies focused on that mission.
  • Collaborate with all departments as needed to improve, direct and re-enforce the goals and objectives of the leadership team.
  • Assist with the implementation and design of current and new business processes, departmental communications, and training to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
  • Develop procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Be familiar with ISO-9001 clauses and requirements.
  • Schedule ISO audits and review records on a regular basis for internal compliance
  • Document and maintain all ISO performance evaluation reports.
  • Document root cause and corrective actions for RGA and red tagged materials when necessary.
  • Track and organize all quality paperwork/data to review for any external or internal trends.
  • Lead and participate in cross functional problem-solving team activity to determine root cause analysis and 8-D work methods for any identified quality concern trends.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities required or assigned.
  • Customer Interaction
  • Take ownership of customer’s issues and follow problems through to resolution.
  • Manage customer communications throughout the department including customer disputes, quality issues, supplier issues or other departmental disputes to ensure corporate goals are achieved. This may include off site customer visits, training, or other forms of external communications.
  • Interact directly with customers either by telephone, email or in person.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to customer order status requests.
  • Serve as a backup to the Purchasing Assistant to coordinate and evaluate returns from customer to determine course of action to repair or return to vendor.
  • Serve as a backup to the Purchasing Assistant to coordinate and evaluate red tagged/quarantined inventory to determine course of action to repair in house or return to vendor.

COMPETENCIES:

  • High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Hydrotech with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.
  • Highly organized with a sense of urgency to drive results.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and time frames.
  • Ability to operate both as a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person.
  • Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, problem solve, analyze and interpret.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work hours average 40 per week; may require additional hours including evening and weekends depending on business needs.
  • Standard work hours for are Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm.
  • Work typically performed in an indoor office and shop environment.
  • Tools and Equipment Used
  • General office equipment including computers, copiers, scanners, projectors
  • Travel
  • Minimal – Less than 5%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) or 5 years’ experience in relevant field preferred

Salary : $72,000 - $90,000
