The Business Development Executive - Defense & National Security Portfolio will play a critical role in expanding HyerTek's presence within the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Energy (DOE), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

This role focuses on identifying high-value opportunities, driving strategic growth initiatives, and fostering relationships with key decision-makers in defense, homeland security, energy, and regulatory agencies. The executive will leverage HyerTek's expertise in enterprise IT modernization, secure cloud solutions, data analytics, AI-driven automation, cybersecurity, and digital transformation to meet the evolving needs of federal clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal contracting processes, technology modernization strategies, and cloud-based enterprise solutions for mission-critical national security applications. The executive must be able to navigate complex procurement environments, build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth for HyerTek.

Position Overview :

The Business Development Executive will lead HyerTek's growth strategy within DoD (Navy, Army, Air Force), DHS, DOE, and NRC. This position requires a seasoned leader with a strong track record in securing contracts for IT modernization, cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and AI-driven national security solutions. The role requires the individual to :

  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with enterprise IT transformation, secure cloud adoption, and cybersecurity for defense and national security agencies.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers, program leaders, and acquisition officials to position HyerTek as a trusted provider of modernized, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
  • Leverage HyerTek's past performance and technical expertise to capture opportunities in secure cloud solutions, AI-driven cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise collaboration.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Business Development & Growth

  • Lead HyerTek's business development efforts within DoD (Navy, Army, Air Force), DHS, DOE, and NRC, focusing on IT modernization, national security, and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Identify and pursue high-value contracts in defense cloud adoption, secure data management, mission-critical cybersecurity, and AI-driven analytics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with DoD, DHS, DOE, and NRC leaders, CIOs, program managers, and acquisition officials to position HyerTek as a trusted IT solutions provider.
  • Build and execute capture strategies that align with emerging federal procurement trends, security priorities, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Federal Market & Competitive Strategy

  • Analyze national security trends, defense budgets, and acquisition strategies to identify growth opportunities for secure, scalable IT modernization solutions.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to position HyerTek for success in high-priority defense and national security contracts.
  • Stay informed on federal contracting vehicles (e.g., SEWP, CIO-SP, Alliant, OASIS, GSA, DoD IDIQs, NASA SEWP, and DOE-specific contracts).
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary business development lead for defense and national security agencies.
  • Engage with senior leaders across DoD, DHS, NRC, and DOE to align HyerTek's technology capabilities with mission needs.
  • Foster partnerships in cloud adoption, AI, advanced analytics, cybersecurity, and secure enterprise solutions.
  • Capture & Proposal Development

  • Lead capture and proposal development for large-scale defense, homeland security, and energy contracts.
  • Shape win strategies and teaming arrangements by leveraging HyerTek's expertise in low code development, advanced analytics, secure cloud, AI, and automation.
  • Collaborate with technical and proposal teams to craft compelling solutions tailored to mission-critical defense and national security needs.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with prime contractors, technology vendors, and federal system integrators for DoD, DHS, DOE, and NRC opportunities.
  • Represent HyerTek at industry events, national security forums, and federal IT conferences.
  • Align HyerTek's business development approach with emerging cloud, AI, and cybersecurity initiatives within national security agencies.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience : 10-15 years in business development, capture management, and federal IT contracting, focusing on defense, homeland security, and national security agencies.
  • Technology Expertise : Understanding of enterprise cloud computing, AI-driven cybersecurity, advanced analytics, and IT modernization trends.
  • Leadership : Demonstrated ability to drive business growth, build executive relationships, and lead federal capture strategies.
  • Federal Market Expertise : Strong knowledge of DoD, DHS, NRC, and DOE procurement processes for IT modernization, cloud security, and enterprise collaboration.
  • Client Engagement : Proven ability to engage with senior DoD, DHS, DOE, and NRC officials to develop mission-critical IT solutions.
  • Pipeline Development : Successful track record in identifying, qualifying, and capturing multi-million-dollar federal IT modernization contracts.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Partnership Management : Experience managing strategic teaming arrangements and federal technology collaborations.
  • Proposal Management : Extensive experience in leading proposal teams for large-scale federal contracts.
  • Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Clearance Requirements :

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret, Top Secret, or DHS Public Trust clearance is preferred.
  • Location :

  • Hybrid (2 to 3 days per week in HyerTek's Rockville headquarters).
