The counselor plans, develops and coordinates individualized treatment plans, offers therapeutic interventions, provides individual, family or group counseling, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Job Summary
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor provides high-quality, client-centered therapy to patients receiving addiction services at Hygea Healthcare. The counselor plans, develops and coordinates individualized treatment plans, offers therapeutic interventions, provides individual, family or group counseling, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs, including interviews, observations, and evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and client goals.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with state and regulatory requirements and center policies.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including maintaining client confidentiality.
- Respond to crises and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Stay informed about advancements in mental health treatment and integrate new techniques and approaches into practice.
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent. Graduate level counselors are welcome to apply (LGPC, LGSW)
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a treatment center or similar setting.
- Familiarity with Medicaid and commercial documentation and billing procedures.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
- Experience working with diverse populations and clients with complex mental health needs.
