The Laborer is responsible for completing projects in a timely and effective manner through preparation and cleanup of the job site.
Duties and responsibilities
Prepare job site for project.
Dig trenches and backfill holes to prepare the site.
Follow instructions from project managers, superintendents, and foreman to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
Load and unload materials.
Clean the construction site by removing hazardous material and debris from the worksite.
Assist other members of the crew as needed.
Ability to locate underground services and determine how deep they are.
Perform equipment and materials inspections.
Understand specifications and instructions, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of and strict adherence to safety regulations.
Participate in accident / incident investigation as directed by safety department.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Possess or the ability to possess a Class A CDL
Member of Laborers Union
Working conditions
Position may require hours outside of regular business hours. Travel is required and will be based on job site location. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk, stand and work on uneven terrain for extended periods of time.
Physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk frequently, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, reach (above shoulder level), and squat
