Overview
The Account Manager is responsible for generating revenue and attaining their quota by selling the company's software and services to new customers in a designated territory or industry.
What you will be doing
- Develop a comprehensive sales plan to meet/exceed established quota
- Research and identify target customers
- Prospect and develop business relationships with potential customers
- Leverage knowledge and experience to educate potential customers on the benefits of the company’s solution
- Record all customer account information in the CRM, including opportunities, commitments, significant conversations, customer visits or sales calls
- Support sales solution engineers in the development and presentation of software demonstrations to potential customers
- Provide information and support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
- Ensure effective transition of new prospects/end-users from pre-sale process to implementation; remain actively involved in process
- Develop and communicate accurate sales forecasting on a real-time basis
- Develop and maintain pipeline
- Evaluate new lead prospects generated by sales associates and qualify as genuine sales opportunities, as appropriate
- Actively contribute ideas to improve sales process and overall growth and quality of the sales team
- Continue to grow knowledge and awareness of best practices and market trends

- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in sales
- Microsoft Windows and Office proficient
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others
- Strong at gaining consensus across multiple departments and leadership levels
- Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
- Highly organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage work to completion with minimal oversight
- Strong collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
- Up to 50% travel time required
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
