We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Department Intern to join our in-house legal team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate legal environment. The intern will assist with various legal tasks, including research, process improvements, and administrative support, while gaining exposure to a wide range of legal issues and practices. Strong candidates will have a positive attitude, will be eager to learn, and comfortable being in a learning space. They will be expected to problem solve, think critically, and work collaboratively. This internship will be primarily remote, equipment will be provided.
* Review contracts to assist the Legal department in documenting contractual commitments to customers, partners, and vendors
* Research and document new laws and regulations applicable to Hyland's business
* Improve documentation and processes used by the legal team members and others in the company, providing a positive impact to time and quality of deliverables
* Assist team members in day to day tasks around contract management, legal research, compliance, and/or management of our intellectual property or global corporate entities
This is an all-encompassing internship opportunity that will provide an invaluable experience. This Internship will allow you to gain knowledge into the practices and legal issues ECM software sales industry as well as learn sales based best practices. Through different projects and interactions, you will get a glimpse into the different aspects of the Hyland Software Sales Team.
* Attention to detail; an interest in reading the fine print
* An interest in contracts and the patience to wade through multiple contractual documents to discover how they relate and how they answer the question at hand
* Microsoft Windows and Office proficient
* Strong oral and written communications skills that demonstrate the ability to articulate a position, a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
* Organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
* Ability to operate at the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and forthrightness
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Strong conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills
* Strong collaborative skills, applied successfully within team as well as with other areas
