Seeking a Weekend Cashier to join our friendly and helpful sales staff! We are a family shoe store, serving the greater Newburyport area for over 50 years and are actively seeking an outgoing team member who enjoys working with the public.
We are hiring for a Part time weekend position. Must be available to work Friday 4p-8p, Saturdays 9a-5:30p and Sundays 10a-5p. Previous retail experience is preferred, but we are eager to train the right person. Responsibilities:
Welcome customers and proactively offer assistance and identify customer needs
Manage transactions with customers using cash registers, including collecting payments in cash, credit or house charge
Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
Direct customers to merchandise within the store
Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction
Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area
Maintain stock within the checkout area
Provide exceptional customer service
Maintain proper safety and cleaning procedures
Qualifications:
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to build rapport with customers
The ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, as well as use ladders.
Basic computer skills
Strong Communication and Time Management skills.
