Summary: The Operations Analyst is responsible for performing data and process analyses and assessments across supply chain and manufacturing processes to raise awareness of operational performance, to inform operational decisions and to improve operational outcomes. The analyst is technically proficient, analytical and has the necessary communication skills to synthesize information into executive presentations. Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:
- Apply a structured approach to problem-solving using qualitative and quantitative data, process documentation and observations
- Synthesize information by combining information from multiple sources to create a new understanding of an operational topic:
- Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data from various data sources into the company’s Reporting Data Warehouse
- Analyze data and other information and form own interpretation and recommendations
- Summarize and visually display and present quantitative and qualitative information into executive presentations
- Develop reporting data models, reports, and dashboards to enable effective self-service data consumption by business stakeholders
- Assist in operationalizing the usage of the new information into ongoing business processes
- Identify and resolve data gaps through data reconciliations and process improvements through stakeholder engagement and development of process documentation in Microsoft Visio
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related 4-year program
- Proficiency with all MS Office products, including Microsoft Excel (Advanced Level) and Microsoft Visio for creating and updating business process documentation
- SQL, Data Modelling (Relational Data Models, Star Schema), MS SQL Server
- Experience in and understanding of one or several of the below is a plus:
- Manufacturing Processes
- ERP Systems and how the systems support key manufacturing processes
- Power BI (Service) or other Business Intelligence Systems
Skills: Analytical thinking and problem solving, being detailed-oriented and capable of delivering a high level or accuracy, oral and written communication skills, data modeling, process modeling.
Physical Requirements: May require extended periods of sitting, looking at computer screen, computer entry and participating in company conference calls.
Travel: Corporate position. Only limited travel as required to support other Hynes facilities.
Work Environment: Office and Plant environment.
