What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Associate position at Hyosung HICO, Ltd.?
The Accounting Associate will be conducting general & technical accounting duties, including finance & business planning in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal procedures to maintain accounting data with accuracy, integrity & current records to provide timely and meaningful business information for key decision-making.
SUMMARY:
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Perform general accounting roles and responsibilities including AP, AR, GL, and Treasury through following US GAAP and IFRS, and Corporate accounting policy and procedures
- Process all types of AP invoices including inventory & services purchases from domestic and foreign suppliers in compliance with GAAP and the corporate accounting policy and procedures
- Check invoices data in detail such as purchase unit price, quantity, and delivery status, and confirm all the invoices data related to 3way matching with purchase order data, invoice, and goods delivery at receiving system
- Develop hands on skills and knowledge of the AP data information system in the ERP, including utilizing and analyzing the data for daily business decision; ex) AP outstanding balance and aging analysis of suppliers
- Understand all types of accounting transactions in the system, and develop utilizing and analyzing skills of general accounting data, including AR, Treasury, and all GL account codes in general ledger, including fixed asset and inventory
- Develop financial statement preparations and analysis skills, including BS, P&L, and Cash Flow
- Develop in depth knowledge of accounting principle, including US GAAP & IFRS
- Develop in-depth knowledge & skills of accounting information system (SAP FICO) regarding all types of business transactions data processing procedures
- Develop knowledge of external business regulations compliance such as sales & use tax regulations, property tax, corporate tax, and other business filings
- Developing ad hoc reporting for assigned projects
- Perform administrative duties as assigned, including preparing reports, tax and business filing, and assisting with special projects, including inventory counting, and interim & year end audit
- Perform document filing and control of all accounting and business documents related to invoices, contracts, regulations, and internal control
- Understand the company business’s core value and its business environment
- Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Accounting Department by conducting business with outside contacts, auditors, and other Hyosung HICO departments in a timely and cooperative manner.
- Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.

REQUIRMENTS:
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- 4year college degree in accounting, finance, business, and other related fields. Or 2year college degree with a 2year of accounting or related field experience
- Understanding of US GAAP & IFRS.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
- Developed excel skills required and MRP/ERP systems (SAP) experience preferred.
- Ability to self-control under pressure and fast-paced work-environment
- Ability to meet required deadline
- Ability to build trusty and co-operative relationship with suppliers, customers, co-workers, and management team
