What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Processing Technician-2nd Shift position at Hyosung HICO LTD.?
The Associate Processing Technician sets up and operates various drying, oil processing, dry air, and other processing equipment associated with the manufacturing of power transformers. Perform the basic mechanical assembly tasks associated with manufacturing power transformers.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Perform basic operations on various machines and equipment relating to the drying, oil processing, dry air, other processes of power transformers.
- Perform manufacturing tasks such a basic mechanical assembly, loading and unloading of machinery and operation of non-CNC equipment; hand tools, measurement equipment and oil filing equipment as examples.
- Perform basic tasks in the setup and operation of oil purification, oil heating, and other oil handling equipment.
- Perform operation of complicated machines and equipment with rigid tolerances.
- Assist in the preparation of work to meet manufacturing and schedule requirements.
- Confirm quality criteria is properly inspected, verified and documented during manufacturing to ensure product meets specifications, tolerances, prints and customers order requirements, identify and correct defects appropriately.
- Perform basic electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation per specifications.
- Follow prints, bills of material, specifications and work instructions to determine proper component parts for processing, assembly and installation.
- Follow and comply with standard work procedures and sequence of operations to consistently meet manufacturing standards for safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Safely move, handle and store materials without damaging items.
- Perform TPM tasks as directed for each job or area.
- Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.
- Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms, and air transporters.
- Assist other manufacturing areas as needed.
- Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager as needed.
- Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.
- Know Hyosung HICO's Quality and Enviornmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and TPM on equipment/machines.
- Assist with completing process check sheets and verifying the work of other employees according to Company procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High shcool education or equivalent and less than two years of training and/or experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Intermediate mechanical or technical skills.
- Experience using various hand and power tools.
- Basic ability to read manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions.
- Basic math and practical geometry skills.
- Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications.
- Basic knowledge and use of simple industrial measuring tools.
- Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.
- Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs.
- Ability to inspect work.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Ability to judge the quality of work produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions.
- Ability to operate powered equipment, such as fork truck and overhead crane.
- Ability to work in normal indoor temperatures.
- Stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day.
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to work in restricted spaces.
- Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods of times.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive movement.
- Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves.
