What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tufting Area Manager - Carpet Division position at Hyosung USA, Inc?
The Tufting Area Manager directs and coordinates the operations of the Tufting Operators/Fixers during their shift in the manufacture of Automotive Carpeting. The Area Manager is responsible for the continual improvement in the performance of productivity, efficiency, and profitability of the shift's operations through a culture of effective methodologies and strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine staffing requirements; and train new employees,
- Assure all team members have the resources, and information to perform their job duties.
- Communicate with employees of changes to their day-to-day responsibilities and provide regular feedback on their performance ensuring that everyone is aware and working to their job responsibilities and assisting the team.
- Coordinate, manage, and monitor the work load and work quality of employees.
- Schedule and conduct shift safety meetings.
- Coordinate work flow and production schedules in conjunction with production planning that meet housekeeping and production goals.
- Assist in establishing product standards
- Implement and maintain quality control requirements by monitoring all shift quality, processes, and procedures.
- Manage resources and operators to ensure on-going operation of the shift within the established budget, productivity, housekeeping, and efficiency standards.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other Carpet Area Managers and Production Managers to proactively address issues that may impact the quality of the production process or product.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee production, sales, and customer objectives are met.
- Review documents, such as production schedules or work orders, to determine material requirements or material priorities.
- Assure all materials are entered as 1st quality production
- Take all necessary actions to improve production costs and improve profitability.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree preferred, HS diploma/GED required
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years experience in Tufting including fixer capabilities
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience
- Ability to create, read, and interpret customer specifications
- Familiar with personal computers with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Superior written and verbal communication skills

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
