Your duties as the Mechanical Engineer will be varied however the key duties & responsibilities are as follows:
- Machine design - High precision mechanical design, robot cells, customer automation, assembly, piping handling
- Estimate automation systems and develop cost models, bills of material, product configurations etc
- Design molded, welded, stamped, machined & extruded components in SolidWorks
- Mentor, assist and provide leadership to the engineering department, associate engineers and technical staff
- Collaborate on design reviews, specifications & manuals to determine feasibility of design within project timelines
- Coordinate / perform design verification & validation testing of new designs
- Modify existing product designs to improve performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Mechanical Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile & past history:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering field
- 4 years minimum experience in high precision mechanical design
- 3D SolidWorks modelling & CAD database experience
- Advanced experience bringing designs to production using design for manufacturing techniques, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA's) and other quality control techniques
- 25% Travel
