We are seeking a skilled Personal Injury Case Paralegal to join our firm and work under one of our most talented attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research and a keen understanding of bodily injury and workers compensation law. This role involves conducting in-depth legal research, preparing case summaries, and assisting attorneys in various aspects of these cases.
This role requires working onsite 5 days per week in Raleigh, NC
Job Duties:
- Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research using various databases and resources to identify relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
- Case Analysis: Analyze case facts, evidence, and expert reports to assess potential legal claims and defenses.
- Document Preparation: Prepare legal documents such as demand letters, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing case timelines, deadlines, and court appearances.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing their inquiries.
- Trial Preparation: Assist in preparing for trials by gathering evidence, organizing exhibits, and supporting attorneys during courtroom proceedings.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties as needed, including filing, photocopying, and managing case files.
Ideal Background:
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of bodily injury and workers compensation law
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth legal research
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in legal research databases and software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Experience working in a law firm specializing in bodily injury and workers compensation
- Knowledge of local and state laws pertaining to these areas
- Familiarity with discovery procedures and trial preparation techniques
