We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to work alongside our balanced agile delivery teams on highly complex DoD projects, specifically the development of command and control (C2) software. Hypergiant with its partners is building an innovative cloud-based command and control system that seamlessly integrates existing capabilities and provides automation that improves efficiency and effectiveness of mission planning and execution. A perfect candidate is able to support software system test activities as an integrated team with partner capability providers. This position will work alongside a software development team and other capability providers on highly complex DoD projects.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures for system components and integrated capabilities
- Perform integration and functional testing in hardware / software integration labs (HIL/SIL) and tactical network environments
- Identify, document, and track defects using standardized tools and processes
- Work closely with systems engineers and software developers to validate end-to-end data flows, message formats, and interoperability
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), field exercises, and customer acceptance events with comprehensive test documentation
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
- At least 8 years of professional work as a systems engineer or test engineer (5 with a STEM B.S.)
- Experience working on classified DOD programs in a secure controlled information facility or secure lab
- Demonstrated experience with DOD test procedures and test documentation related to DOD acquisition
- Demonstrated experience with integration and function testing in a HIL / SIL and tactical network environments
- Demonstrated familiarity with cloud platforms and related test strategies (cloud architect or operations certification is a plus)
- Experience managing robust test tools and implementing workflow automation
- Must be a US Citizen with an active US DOD TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Must be able to work onsite, at a secure controlled information facility located in Sterling, VA
- Experience with cloud-based command and control systems and geospatial information systems
- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies
- Experience working in a sub / prime contractor relationship and monitoring compliance
- Ability to train program personnel in test processes and tools
- Background in systems engineering for complex projects
- Knowledge of automation systems that improve mission planning efficiency
- Experience with program closure activities and issue resolution
- Knowledge of the software system development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment, using an agile, iterative process
- Understanding of software application architecture patterns
- Penchant for learning new technologies, balanced with strong pragmatic thinking
- Design-minded attention to detail in system implementation
- Ability to travel as needed
