Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our EMI Porta team, based out of Arlington Heights, IL. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position plays an integral part in the team by improving the safety and reliability of our equipment and facilities to exceed our customers’ requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facility and Machine Maintenance o Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, install, and repair facility components, including electrical and plumbing, and equipment following safety and quality standards. oPerform preventative maintenance on machines, including filters, oil changes, and minor repairs to leaks as required.
- Utilize a work order system to document maintenance tasks and track completed activities. oSupport corrective action initiatives and implement safety and quality improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for routine or specialized repairs, inspections, and system upgrades to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Facility Repairs and Upkeep o Assist with facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, fixture installation, and general repairs.
- Move and relocate furniture, materials, and equipment within the facility as needed. oSchedule and oversee work performed by external vendors for facility improvements and repairs, ensuring alignment with internal standards and timelines.
- Welding and Production o Perform welding tasks with precision to meet or exceed production specifications.
- Use various hand tools, push carts, and machinery to stage the work area. oFollow production schedules and meet or exceed daily production targets.
- Quality Control o Read and interpret blueprints and tape measures to ensure accurate assembly.
- Inspect parts for defects or irregularities, ensuring they meet quality standards. oCollaborate with internal teams to determine root causes of issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste.
- Team Collaboration o Work with or assist trades contractors on complex repairs, upgrades, and special projects.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. oWork alongside employees to enhance machine uptime, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Communicate with external service providers to coordinate scheduling, job scope and quality assurance for outsources work.
- Work Area and Safety Compliance o Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Notify supervisors when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. oAdhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Communicate with internal team members to ensure safe and effective processes are followed. oHelp leadership identify areas for improvement and implement innovative or adjusted work procedures.
- Ensure outside contractors follow company safety guidelines and complete necessary permits or documentation before performing work on-site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 12 years of experience with maintenance work preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience using tools and equipment for similar type work.
- Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Regular and prompt attendance required.
- Forklift experience is a plus
