Job Description:

We are seeking a strong PL/SQL Developer for a long-term opportunity with our client in Chicago, IL. This role requires a highly motivated individual who can take initiative, proactively identify issues, and collaborate effectively. The position is hybrid, requiring onsite presence 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
• Work with Oracle 12C & 19C databases, ensuring optimal database performance and reliability.
• Develop and maintain UNIX/Shell scripts for automation and database-related tasks.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling, ensuring efficient data structures.
• Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
• • Maintain database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
  • Work with SOAP/RESTful Web Services for integrating PL/SQL with backend services.
  • Provide support and enhancements for backend Java applications, ensuring smooth data flow between databases and services.
• Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL programs for improved performance.
• Collaborate with DBAs, data analysts, and development teams to ensure seamless database integration.
• Maintain database security, backup, and recovery procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a PL/SQL Developer.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle 12C & 19C Development.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL programming, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience with UNIX/Shell scripting for automation and database management.
• Hands-on experience with logical & physical data modeling.
• Strong ability to review and optimize code for performance and efficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases and cloud-based Oracle solutions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid role 3 days onsite in Chicago, IL.
