Job Title: Java Developer (Strong Backend)
Location: St. Louis, MO (Locals only)
Duration: 12 months (fulltime contract with benefits)
Notes From The Hiring Manager
Java (currently on Java 17 and Spring 6), Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, Hibernate. Experience with Camunda is a plus.
Java candidates should have experience with Spring 6 and Docker.
At a bare minimum, candidates should be proficient in Java (currently version 8 or greater), RESTful design, and Spring Boot.
We're not looking for a full-stack engineer. Rather, we're looking for someone with strong backend, API development skills in core Java and the Spring framework.
This team is responsible for the development of Ordering Integration Services (OIS) which is comprised of 17 APIs. To adjust to market conditions, there’s a need for continued maintenance and enhancement of these APIs.
They are basically "providing the middleware services" across all Charter orders. They have over 3 dozen consumers of their APIs both internal and external to Charter.
The APIs distribute data through a workflow built via Camunda and the APIs are mostly deployed via Docker and Kubernetes.
They are also deployed via Java Virtual Machines (JVMs).
MSA architecture and intend to be fully deployed via cloud in the future.
Job Description
We are looking for a Java Developer for a long-term assignment in St. Louis, MO.
The candidate will participate in all aspects of the SDLC life cycle including solution design; implementation and deployment.
This hands-on technical role requires strong object-oriented and system design skills.
Responsibilities
Strong experience in Core Java.
Strong understanding of OOPS concepts and design patterns.
Strong hands-on experience in microservices development using Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience in Spring Framework hands-on, Spring-MVC, Spring-AOP, Spring-Actuator, Spring-Cloud, Spring-Config, etc.
Development of web services must use REST or SOAP.
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases.
Good experience in project-building tools like MAVEN, and GRADLE.
Knowledge of automation code build and deploy tools, Jenkins, and Bamboo.
Knowledge of code subversion tools like SVN, and GIT.
Unit testing using common frameworks like Mockito, PowerMock, Junit
An experience in agile/scrum will be a plus.
Knowledge of the cable/telecom domain will be a plus.
Hands-on experience in building cloud native services will be a plus
