Month-End Close
- Prepare journal entries and accruals
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Perform account reconciliations
- Produce monthly income statements
Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Oversee AP and AR to ensure bills and invoices are paid and properly recorded
- Review and process invoices
- Maintain AR aging report
- Handle cash application of AR
Day-to-Day Accounting
- Record expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation, and necessary adjusting/reclassification journal entries
- Manage cash flow, conduct cash-on-hand analyses, and reconcile cash accounts for accuracy and compliance
- Oversee banking relationships, including debt financing and cash management
Payroll Management
- Process payroll through Paychex (branches submit hours—this role enters them)
- Administer the 401(k) plan, including reporting contributions for each pay cycle
- Assist with Paychex integration into QuickBooks
Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely tax payments
- Coordinate with Paychex for payroll taxes and liaise with the company’s CPA for business tax matters
Qualifications
- 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within a smaller company environment
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism
