As a lift system design engineer, you’ll develop and release components and assemblies, including hydraulic cylinders, weldments, castings, linear and rolling bearings and sensors.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept development for component & system design.
- Perform system and component calculations to determine flow, pressure, and efficiency requirements.
- Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component requirements.
- Interface with vendors, internal plants, and other stakeholders to deliver product to requirements.
- Create product design documentation – e.g., solid models, drawings, engineering lists, test plans.
- Communicate both verbally and through written reports.
- Be open minded and flexible in a team environment to response to customer needs.
- Exhibit good judgment and ability to take decisive actions to effectively develop products.
- BS in Engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic CAD skills (modeling, drafting, and layouts) and analysis techniques.
- Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology.
- Exposure to and interest in industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, agriculture, trucks).
- BS/MS in Engineering with 2 year’s work experience in product development.
- Basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills, Matlab, AMESIM, Automation StudioLift
- Experience with Siemens NX and/or Siemens Teamcenter
