Project or Senior Engineer– Electrical and Controls Systems
HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Electrical and Controls team. As an engineer for this team, you will provide leadership in supporting a wide variety of program development, product research and development, and testing activities across multiple functional groups.
Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, design, and develop technologies, components, processes, and subsystems specific to power electronics for the following systems:
- Electric Vehicles
- Hydrogen Fuel Cells
- Telematics
- Vehicle Networks
- Electrical Components
- Developing and analyzing system and subsystem requirements
- Develop the key aspects of vehicle electrical architecture for high and low voltage systems
- Developing technical specifications
- Proposing solutions that may include both hardware and software components
- In-depth analysis of electronic and electrical component specifications
- Board level chip selection
- Contributing to the design and development of electronics hardware and supporting tools and processes
- Developing and debugging of embedded systems hardware and software
- Oversight of supplier provided hardware and software designs
- Significantly contributing to overall team and project success
- Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.
- Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
- Systematic Problem solving: Demonstrate ability to apply advanced principles and methods to resolve product issues.

- Occasional travel may be required.
- B.S./M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree
- Seven or more years industry experience preferred
- Specialized knowledge and proficiency in drawing practices, CAD, engineering analysis, design layouts
- Specialized knowledge and proficiency in some or more of vehicle/automotive or related technology, manufacturing technology, design/test experience, test practices and procedures.
- Detailed knowledge / skill in industry regulations, particularly functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Experience in project management and supervision of others preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in electrical components, circuits, control theory, electric motor drive theory, power electronics and inversion, and battery management systems.
- Advanced proficiency in real time control networks for controlling vehicle/automotive type machines for the global marketplace.
- Advanced knowledge in control system design and architectures including both electronic hardware and software of embedded systems for the global marketplace
- M.S./B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree
- Ten or more years industry experience
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in drawing practices, CAD, design layouts, engineering analysis
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in some or more of vehicle/automotive or related technology, manufacturing technology, design/test experience, test practices and procedures.
- Expert knowledge/skill in industry regulations, particularly functional safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Experience in project and team management preferred.
