We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician at our Jonesboro location. You will be responsible for providing support to all areas of Hytrol concerning product design, application, testing, and writing/maintaining accurate records of test procedures, results, and designs.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in designing, prototyping, and testing new conveyor systems, components, and technologies
- Collaborate closely with R&D engineers, Product engineers, Quality, Procurement, Business Development, and Manufacturing teams to refine and optimize product designs
- Perform tests on new products, materials, and systems, documenting results, analyzing data, and providing recommendations for product improvements
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Build, assemble, and modify prototype conveyor systems and components.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve product designs and testing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of test procedures, results, and designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to product development and safety
- Hold a forklift certification or be willing to obtain certification, along with proficiency in operating other material handling equipment
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in software and tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, AS400, Document Manager, and a working understanding of AutoCAD and Inventor drawing software
- Be comfortable working in a lab and workshop environment with various machinery and tools
- Regularly lift, pull, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Possess knowledge of safety standards and regulations in product development
- Clean and organize work area
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in an engineering technician role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and assembly of mechanical or electrical systems, ideally in the conveyor or automation industry
- Proven experience operating forklifts and handling materials in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
