What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Quality Engineer II - NAQC position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI)?
Job Description:
- Perform quality investigations on Genesis, Hyundai or Kia(HMG) vehicles based on warranty claim analysis results and its severities
- Conduct field or on-site investigations to accurately define duplicating condition for quality problems related to all electrical systems
- Publish technical reports on electrical system evaluations and investigations to provide recommendations for HMG R&D and Quality teams for improvements
- Perform part failure analysis on electrical components to identify root causes and generate an investigation report to share the findings with the corresponding vendor(s) and other quality divisions
- Provide technical support and participate in various product evaluation programs with N.A. sales affiliates and assembly plants
- Work closely with vendors to investigate root cause of a problem and confirm effectiveness of countermeasure
- Provide engineering support to dealers (remote or onsite) for non-fixable problems by performing root cause analysis and providing methods of resolution.
- Study J.D. Power, Consumer Reports, and other Automotive Syndicated studies to identify market trends and benchmark competitors that are Best In Class
- Must be a self-starter with automotive background to solve various problems with minimal supervision
- Familiarity in Vector CANalyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer is a plus
- Knowledge or work experience in vehicle battery systems (12V, Hybrid, Plug-In & EV) is a plus
- Knowledge or work experience in ADAS or autonomous vehicle is a plus
- Travel up to 40% of time domestically and internationally
- Flexibility with travel (domestic and international) is required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Driving Record
- Must be legally authorized to work in U.S.
Compensation Range : $60,000~$75,000 per year
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
