Hyundai Motor Group North American Quality Center. (NAQC) is currently looking for a New Model Evaluation Sr. Engineer at our Chino, CA facility who will :

On a day-to-day basis, the NAQC New Model Evaluation Sr. Engineer will :
Test and evaluate Chassis / PT / EL concerns for new vehicle models and provide recommendations for improvementInvestigate / support testing and evaluation of Chassis / PT / EL quality issues on Hyundai, Genesis, or Kia vehicles responding to requests from Hyundai Motor Group, sales affiliates, vehicle assembly plants, and sudden increases in warranty claimsConduct field or on-site investigations to collect subjective and objective data during driving to identify concerns to perform root cause analysisUtilize experience in Chassis / PT / EL Fundamentals including NVH, Steering, Ride & Handling, Brakes, EV System, ADAS, Infotainment, etc.Utilize experience with vehicle sensors (LiDAR, radar, etc.), motor-driven steering systems, collision avoidance system, adaptive control, lane departure, tire monitor system, etc.Utilize shop equipment (tire balancer / charger, lift, etc.) & demonstrate knowledge of other Chassis / PT / EL engineering test equipmentMentor Junior Engineers on best practices and assist Manager in their further development of skillsManage the planning, lead, and provide support in collaboration with other groups / affiliates of test plans for the various quality tests done for new models including Ride & Handling, NVH, Flat Spot Testing, and Hot and Cold weather testsManage schedules and advise outsourced companies to ensure all deliverables are met as per contractUse engineering analysis and research results for 'lessons learned' on current and future modelsBenchmark competitive vehicles to research differences and improve HMG vehicle systemsResearch, procure, and maintain new technology, tools, and methods for data acquisition or analysisConduct vehicle audits for Hyundai & Kia models during developmental stages and after vehicle launchCreate and present technical and weekly reports as assignedPerform additional projects as assignedCandidates considered will...
Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineeringHave 4-7 years experience in automotive engineering, preferably Chassis / PT / EL experience strongly desiredTravel up to 40% of the time, both domestically and internationallyPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles and practicesProject management experience preferredValid driver's license and satisfactory driving recordCompensation :Base Salary : $118k~$140kCandidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
