What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Design - Structures Intern position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.?
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Structures Engineering Design Intern for the summer to join the Structures Engineering Design Team in Superior Township, MI:
Technical Competency
- Gain knowledge of general body-in-white design for both Underbody and Upperbody.
- Support HERO and other tech sensing projects.
- Gain knowledge and experience in Safety, Durability, and NVH aspects of the BIW design.
- Benchmark competition for critical areas and report to management.
Process Competency
- Gain experience in HATCI systems & processes
- Assist lab technician(s) on 1 project.
Workplace Competency
- Acclimate to the workplace environment.
- Work with other engineers both inside and outside the group to develop relationships.
- Identify 1 technical issue and coordinate discussions to: a) define problem statement, b) identify solutions, c) compare & quantify potential solutions, and d) propose 1 solution to the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Junior/Senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
