OTA Software Engineer II
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is searching for an Engineer II to join the Over-The-Air (OTA) Operations Team. The OTA Operations Team oversees the evaluation, validation, operation, and management of OTA software updatesconcerning Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles of the North American (NA) market. As a result, the OTA Operations Engineer II would support North American OTA Operations regarding vehicle software updates and telematics data analyses.
What You Will Do:
- Engage in engineering projects spanning various aspects of OTA systems, ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable software updates for North American production vehicles
- Conduct pre-production OTA testing and evaluation, along with post-production update validation, field monitoring, and troubleshooting to uphold quality standards
- Identify root causes of issues, design effective solutions, and collaborate with HQ to implement and deploy them successfully
- Perform Vehicle Customer Relationship Management (VCRM) data analysis to gain insights into customer needs, and develop dashboards, troubleshooting processes, and tools accordingly
- Travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role:
- Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Experience in automotive or embedded product development
- Experience in software development for vehicle electric & electronic systems, telematics systems, controller units, or related products
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and network systems, such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet, and in operating data acquisition systemslike ETAS/INCA and Vector/CANoe
- Ability to thrive in an agile work environment with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering,or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Experience in automotive software requirements specifications for in-vehicle network management or OTA system software
- Understanding of automotive telematics systems, server architecture, and cloud services
- Experience in automotive telematics data analytics
- Experience in production software lifecycle(s), including requirements, system design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for vehicle systems
- Familiarity with classic and adaptive AUTOSAR
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, C, and C
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps-CI/CD processes and tools
