What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Compliance & Regulatory Intern position at Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.?
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Safety Compliance & Regulatory Intern to join the Regulation/Certification team in Superior Township, MI:
Regulatory Affairs
- Monitor and summarize information on Federal and State motor vehicle safety regulations under consideration
- Assist with preparation of written comments in response to government safety regulatory actions or inquiries
- Provide recommendations to engineering staff for action in response to upcoming safety requirements
- Provide updates, summaries, and/or presentations related to motor vehicle safety trends and technologies
Pre-Production Compliance
- Review vehicle regulations and test procedures (FMVSS, state, & territories) from governmental entities (NHTSA, OVSC, NCAP, etc.) for product applicability and draft conclusion documents
- Support visual compliance audits on new products
Post-Production Compliance
- Support company during various safety compliance and/or NCAP tests
Basic Qualifications
- Pursing a Bachelor's degree in engineering or other analytical / technical fields, including technical writing, and/or public policy.
- Interest in automative safety and/or automotive industry
- Organization and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, high integrity, and ethical behavior
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
