What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler/Forklift Operator position at Hyundai L&C USA?
Location : Chicopee, MA
Job Duties: When it comes to the product side of the business, our warehouse material handlers deal with it better than anyone. To perform this job successfully, the individual must adhere to the following:
· Adheres to all safety and OSHA regulations.
· Always wears proper safety equipment.
· Performs daily inspections on all powered industrial equipment, specifically any overhead cranes and/or forklifts.
· Maintains forklift and reporting maintenance necessities.
· Reviews the days tasks, performing a Job Hazard Analysis daily before the start of each shift, and completing the JHA Form, assuring orders accurately and safely handled.
· Maintains clean work environment by sweeping, trash removal, running floor scrubber.
· Keeps saw area dust free.
· Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards.
· Tracks, monitors and communicates inventory levels on hand as needed.
· Loads and or unloads quartz slabs and solid surfaces sheets using overhead cranes and/or forklifts. Spotters required for all slabs moved via forklifts.
· Stages outgoing material daily and have a spotter verify against picking tickets.
· Unloads slab bundles from containers with forklifts and/or overhead cranes.
· Performs quality checks and reports the findings on received material.
· Verifies walk-in orders and deliveries before shipment.
· Loads and unloads vendor and/or common carrier vehicles, and company trucks.
· Conducts inventory cycle counts and maintains material location updates via plan-o-grams.
· Builds A-frames for LTL and flatbed shipments as well as Hanex solid surface.
· Scans all paperwork and emails proper authorities for future reference.
· Assists with reporting needs, gathering information, and relaying to requesting party.
· Maintains a clean warehouse.
· Processes warranty claims and /or damaged goods
· Performs additional duties as required and or requested.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
