This role will be expected to provide technology guidance, develop architecture roadmaps, principles, technology standards, and best practices to align with HCA’s technology roadmap.What You Will DoStrategic IT Planning and Enterprise Architecture Design : Develop and maintain the enterprise IT architecture roadmap. Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to support business objectives and goals. Design scalable, flexible IT systems to support current and future business needs.Technology Standards and Governance : Establish and enforce IT architecture standards, policies, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions. Lead the Architecture Review Board and ensure that proposed solutions are compliant with target state architecture models. Drive adoption, usage, maintenance, and governance of HCA’s enterprise architecture management tool.Cross Department Collaboration : Collaborate with HCA IT’s architecture community, including but not limited to Data, Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Integration architects, to ensure completeness of technical solutions, develop and promote architectural policies, standards, and reference documentation. Provide strategic consultation to IT leaders and fellow architects on options, risks, costs / benefits, system impacts, and technology stack alignment.Innovation and Emerging Technologies : Research and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on the organization. Partner with IT teams to develop and / or validate proof-of-concept projects to test new technologies and solutions. Ensure that the use of new technologies is in alignment with architecture standards and compliance requirements.Continuous Improvement : Analyze existing IT systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. Develop strategies to optimize IT performance, efficiency, technical debt, and cost-effectiveness. Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to review and improve EA capabilities. Establish and oversee the enterprise architecture team, including the recruitment, development, and management of the architecture staff. Define the skills and competencies for enterprise architecture team members. Responsible for identifying training and development needs of the architecture team and community.Lead, mentor, and develop team members : Provide direction, performance feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.What You Will BringBachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Certification in a related discipline is a plus.15 or more years of IT and business / industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations including exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.Experience in cloud computing frameworks such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, multi-tier application frameworks, service-oriented architecture, microservices, and application modernization efforts.Three years supervisory experience managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams.Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).Proficiency in architecture modeling tools and methodologies.Demonstrated success as a hands-on solution architect.Ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence senior level management and key stakeholders.Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes, and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to influence senior level management and key stakeholders.Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.Ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, with vision to monitor and moderate noise levels.
