Summary of Position:
The Foam Team Member position performs
assembly, material handling, and rework tasks in a
fast paced, repetitive bench or line operation to
produce automotive seat foam pad units in a multi-
step processing having many parts and details and
where tolerances are specific.
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Foam Department to produce seat foam pads.
- Assemble, perform material handling, spray and rework using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and jigs.
- Read, interpret, and follow work orders and work instructions/Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) to ensure work is performed according to specifications.
- Maintain a consistent work pace on each operation; utilize time well; perform tasks within required time.
- Performs any variety of operational tasks within the Foam Department to maintain positive flow of work.
- Material handling functions as required to maintain inventory of work stations, or to move product through the foam process.
- Perform quality checks and be able to recognize defective parts to assure product meets all specifications and standards.
- Rotate through multiple work stations / tasks as assigned
- Write production reports, track parts and scrap as required
- Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as, ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949
- Adhere to 5S to keep work site clean and orderly consistently improving appearance of the team’s area. Active in following 5s—Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain organization of work area.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in assembly is preferred
- Previous job-related experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required)
Skills and Knowledge:
- Teamwork oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), organization, and time-management skills

Heavy walking and standing throughout the shift- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis

- Required to use close vision, peripheral vision, focus and see colors as required to read equipment and material labels, color-coded inventory, computer terminal screens, etc.
