Construction Inspector (Upstate New York)

We have an immediate need of a full time Construction Engineer/Inspector with experience in drilling and/or geotechnical work. Work location will be upstate New York. Contract duration is approximately 90 days and extendable.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

· Observe construction contractor activities to ensure that the plans and specifications requirements of the Contract are fulfilled during construction.

· Review plans and specifications, verify quantities, and ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents, safety standards and specific agency requirements

· Assist the Project Management team with technical expertise to resolve issues encountered during construction.

· Accompany project management team when the site visit is made and attend pre-construction, during construction, and final Walk-through meetings.

· Make daily reports with required work progress and photos via Submittal Exchange

· Assist the EIC in tracking substandard work and corrective actions in a tracking log.

· Report issues to PM as needed. Project owner may be advised, as appropriate

· Attend meetings called for the purpose of coordination of specific information or resolving special problems related to the project.

· Must have valid Driver’s License.

Qualification/Requirement:

· Candidates with prior drilling and/or geotechnical (flood control/sewer/water pipe installations) work are highly desired.

· Prior experience in NYSDEC, NYCDDC, NYCDEP, OGS and or DOT construction inspection projects involving flood control/sewer/water pipe installations.

· Excellent interpersonal skills organized with documentation.

· Solid attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards or violations
