Summary/Objective

The Lead Behavior Analyst will provide support to individuals and their caregivers by coordinating, supervising, and providing behavioral services. Services will be provided from a strengths-based lens, utilizing evidence-based practices including of Trauma Informed Care, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Skill-Based Treatment, working with individuals with various diagnoses including behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Intervention may occur in homes, schools, day programs, and other community settings and include functional behavioral analysis and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, naturalistic teaching, and adaptive life skills. The Lead Behavior Analyst will provide supervision, training, and support to Behavior Specialists, Registered Behavior Technicians and Behavior Technicians to ensure excellence in supporting individuals, caregivers and teams. The Lead Behavior Analyst will support staff to gain fluency in BACB task list items and designing and implementing evidence-based treatment for clients served.

Essential Functions

  • Provides direct services to a small caseload of clients, including:
    • Conduct Behavioral Assessments and Skill Assessments
    • Develop Individual Service Plans, Behavior Support and Skill Acquisition Plans
    • Provide skill building, direct intervention, and parent/caregiver training
  • Provides clinical supervision of at least 5% of clinical fieldwork hours for both Behavior Specialists (Behavior Analysts in Training) and RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians) on an ongoing basis.
  • Function in a clinical supervisory capacity to provide oversight, mentoring and behavioral skills training to Behavior Specialists to promote fluency. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • BACB task list items to assist Behavior Specialists with understanding foundational concepts of ABA, ethical considerations, etc.
    • Skill assessment and skill acquisition programming
    • Behavior Assessment and behavior reduction plans
    • Practical functional assessment and skills-based treatment
    • Behavioral consultation
    • Writing ISPs, monitoring chart compliance, organizational skills, auditing BT documentation and timecards and other administrative duties
    • Parent Training using RUBI curriculum
    • Trauma-responsive care to clients, families
    • Trauma-responsive supervision of BTs
    • Soft skills to promote building and maintenance of rapport with clients, families, team members and staff
  • Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) Function in a clinical supervisory capacity to provide oversight, mentoring and behavioral skills training to Behavior Specialists to promote fluency. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Collecting Data
    • Writing service notes
    • Reviewing client documentation and reviewing records
    • Implementation of ABA-informed interventions
    • Trauma- responsive care
    • Soft Skills and rapport building with team members, clients, families and coworkers
    • Ethical considerations and reporting
    • Graphing data
    • Updating programming in Catalyst
    • Troubleshooting areas of difficulty in programming/behavioral needs
    • Assisting with skill and behavior assessment as assigned
    • Training in skills-based treatment
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retention of staff. Completes employee evaluations and discipline as needed.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual paperwork at scheduled times.
  • Ensure that service provision and interventions meet the requirements of regulatory and licensing bodies, contracts, insurance, human rights, and local behavior committees.
  • Work collaboratively with various professionals including doctors, prescribers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, schools, and other treatment team members to develop and implement individualized goals.
  • Review and sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training for all staff working with the individual and provide field supervision when necessary.
  • Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all constituents (other supports, parents, community, and community agencies).
  • Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor and other departments within Boundless.
  • Complete documentation and records of service into the agency's electronic health records system within 48 hours of the completed service or timelines established in company policy/procedure.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in addition to regulations, laws and other requirements from applicable governing bodies, certification, licensure and/or accreditation entities, etc.
  • This job regularly works in the community, providing supervision and services outside of the office in community settings. Primary community locations will be clients' homes, day cares, schools, day and residential programs. This position works with individuals who may demonstrate aggressive, hostile, or other unpredictable behaviors. Telehealth individual and group services may also be provided when clinically appropriate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Supervisory Duties

  • This role directly supervises behavior technicians and behavior specialists. This role provides clinical/training supervision to behavior specialists seeking their BCBA certification and registered behavior technicians.

Education, Skills, Experience and Requirements:

  • Required Education and Experience:
    • Must have three years of experience in behavioral health, autism services, or working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
    • Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification
    • BCBA certification in good standing.
    • COBA (Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst) certification in good standing or ability to obtain COBA certification within 3 months of hire.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant. (Training will be provided, if not already certified).
    • Ability to obtain and maintain physical crisis intervention training (as required by program).
    • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, if applicable.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications
    • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing.
    • Ability to provide BACB supervision to other BCBA candidates and RBTs.
    • Valid Ohio Driver's License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance; insurable driving record (five points or fewer).
