What are we looking for?
We are seeking an Industrial Electrician to join our crew in Decatur, Alabama. As an Industrial Electrician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting. The person in this position will ensure that all electrical systems, components, and equipment are installed professionally and to the specifications of our clients. We seek highly motivated individuals who are passionate and eager to learn and grow within the electrical trade.
The Responsibilities
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local, state, and national codes.
- Connect wire to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Test electrical systems, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Be able to prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
- Place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Ability to direct, train, or lead crew members to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Demonstrated ability to safely use various types of man lifts and hand/power tools as well as being able to work from ladders, scaffolds or at heights above 25 feet.
- Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as being attentive to detail.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times while representing I.C.E. Contractors.
The Requirements
- Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience with installations, maintenance, and repairing of low-voltage systems.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and have a clean driving record within the last three years.
- Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
- Experience with operating various types of man lifts and the ability to work at various different heights.
- A passion for the Electrical trade!
The Plus's
Completion of a Technical or Trade School in the Electrical Trade or similar
Experience with attending trainings at Tennessee Valley Training Center (TVTC)
OSHA 10 and/or 30 Certification(s)
