What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialty Welding Training position at I-CAR?
Job Summary:
Conducts training and certification and delivers recertification specialty training programs for I-CAR contracted Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) customer. Provides input to and assists with development of new specialty training programs. Facilitates, tracks and maintains shop tools and equipment to support specialty training.
This position will report onsite to the JLR location at 1000 Centre Pkwy #100, Atlanta, GA 30349.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver hands-on JLR welding programs to include Aluminum GMA, Steel GMA and MIG Brazing content.
- Responsible for set up / teardown of training workshop, plus regular maintenance of equipment, tools, and training aids.
- Able to achieve and maintain JLR and I-CAR certifications.
- Guided by JLR to enhance and/or develop new or existing JLR welding programs.
- Able to fully understand the operation of all JLR approved equipment and tools.
- Maintains training schedule calendar. Is available to answer training questions related to class schedules, delivery, and travel arrangements.
- Responsible for timely and accurate event results following training. Including all necessary supporting documentation to reflect the submitted event results.
- Assists I-CAR / JLR management in procurement and/or consignment of specialty tools and equipment, as necessary.
- Repairability Technical Support – Assists as available, in research, documentation, review, and distribution of technical information specific to JLR welding.

- Understanding of collision repair procedures and technology.
Experience and Education:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of collision industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years MIG/MAG Welding experience.
Desired
- Any work experience as a collision repair instructor.
- Any work experience or formal education in skilled trades.
- Any welding certification (OEM, I-CAR, AWS or ISO)
